This is a 2-step visa process

SUBCLASS 309 VISA (Temporary)
Allows you to enter and live in Australia temporarily
Allows work rights
Multiple entries in and out of Australia
After 2 years, assessed to Subclass 100 Visa
Age Applicant must be 18 years or older
Location Applicant must be in Australia when applying for the visa
Sponsor Applicant must have a sponsor (spouse or de facto partner)
Relationship criteria is satisfied
Living together or not permanently apart
Exclusive spousal relationship (legally married, including LGBT+ marriages)
Exclusive de facto relationship: - The relationship has been ongoing for at least 12 months (limited exceptions)
Children may be included if
Under 18 and both parents with legal rights agree (in writing) to the child being included in the visa
Over 18 but less than 24 must be dependent on the visa applicant
SUBCLASS 100 VISA (Permanent Partner Visa)
Process typically after two years, if the relationship is still genuine and ongoing.

5 year travel rights
Hold a Temporary Partner Visa (Subclass 820) Applicants must already hold this visa.
Ongoing Relationship Be in a genuine and ongoing relationship with an eligible sponsor (Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible NZ citizen).
Other requirements
Health and Character Must meet health and character requirements.
Debts Any outstanding debts to the Australian Government must be repaid or arrangements made.
Sponsorship limitations Sponsor cannot be barred from sponsoring
